SUMMARY:Trail Crew 2023 - Every Sunday\, April 16 through November 26
DESCRIPTION:The Trail Crew always welcomes new members! Join us for a morning of volunteering to help keep the trails in tip-top shape. \nVolunteers meet in the parking lot at 9:30 on Sunday mornings\, April through November. The work sessions usually last for about two hours (weather permitting)\, and there are a variety of tasks suited for all abilities. Trail Crew projects typically involve clearing fallen trees\, removing litter\, repainting trail markers\, constructing trail infrastructure to prevent erosion and increase accessibility\, and otherwise improving or relocating trails. \nSGPA will supply any tools or equipment needed. Volunteers should wear sturdy shoes\, dress appropriately for the weather\, and bring work gloves and water. \nFor additional information\, please contact the Trail Crew leader at trailcrew@sgpa.org.

SUMMARY:The Great Give 2023 - Support SGPA
DESCRIPTION:The Sleeping Giant Park Association invites you to support the Giant during the 2023 Great Give. This 36-hour online\, community-wide giving event was created by The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven to raise visibility and resources for nonprofits serving Greater New Haven. Thanks to the generosity of thousands of donors\, the efforts of participating organizations\, and sponsorships\, last year’s event raised an impressive $3.46 million for a record number of 510 local nonprofits. \nLast year\, SGPA raised over $1\,000 to support tree planting efforts in areas of the park that were damaged by the 2018 tornados. This year\, we are back at it. The first $5\,000 raised through the 2023 Great Give will be used to purchase\, plant\, and maintain new trees near the park entrance. Any additional funds will be used to support the many other projects and programs of SGPA.
