DESCRIPTION:Save the Date!\nThe Sleeping Giant Park Association will host its 102nd Annual Meeting of Members on Sunday\, October 18\, 2026. All are welcome to attend to learn about SGPA's current projects and programs. \nThis year is an election year\, so current SGPA members will also have the opportunity to elect new and renewing members of the SGPA Board of Directors. Information about the slate of nominees is forthcoming. \nWe hope to host this years meeting inside of the park's new visitor center\, and will share our vision for the interior exhibits and interpretive information that will be installed later in the year. \nWe also welcome attendees to join us after the meeting to continue conversation\, share stories\, and enjoy the company of fellow giant-lovers. Light refreshments will be provided.

SUMMARY:Giant Master Trail Series - Hike 6 (Blue & Yellow)
DESCRIPTION:Join the Sleeping Giant Park Association at the CT Chapter of the Appalachian Mountain Club for this guided hike series designed to help you complete the Giant Master Challenge*—or simply explore new trails at Sleeping Giant State Park! The Giant Master Program challenges hikers to traverse all 32 miles of blazed trails in the park\, and this six-hike series will guide participants through every section of the Giant’s extensive trail system. \nEach hike in the series will cover a different portion of the park\, so if you complete all six\, you will have successfully conquered the Giant Master Challenge*! Whether you’re working toward Giant Master status or just looking for a great day on the trails\, these hikes offer a fantastic way to experience the park’s diverse landscapes\, scenic viewpoints\, and challenging terrain. Hikes will be led by SGPA Board Member and veteran hike leader\, Mary Anne Hardy. \nThis hike will depart from the park’s main entrance at 9:15am (meet at 9:00am)\, and cover the Blue and Yellow trails (6.5+ miles).\nThis hike will involve traveling over uneven terrain\, with some possible rock scrambling. As such\, participants should be in good physical condition\, dress appropriately for the weather and wear comfortable\, supportive shoes with good traction. A day pack with snacks\, water\, sunscreen and any other essentials is recommended.
