Halloween Hike

Join the Sleeping Giant Park Association and CT AMC for a special Halloween Hike!
We’ll hike six miles on the violet and yellow trails, with a detour to the base of the cliffs. We’ll go around the perimeter of the park, not to the tower or to the Giant’s head. There is no easy way to shorten the hike, so please be sure that you’re able to do six miles on rocky trails with some scrambles (but no climbing).
Please consider wearing a costume, but be sure that it won’t impair your mobility, vision or safety.
Hikers must wear appropriate hiking footwear with good traction: no sneakers. Hiking poles are strongly recommended. Hikers must carry at least 32 oz. of water, a snack, personal medications and first-aid supplies. Remember your sunscreen, and insect and tick repellent.
Meet at 9:15 for a prompt 9:30 start. Meet at the white bathroom building: when you enter the park, drive straight ahead and around the circle to this lot. The end time is an estimate, and is subject to change, depending on the trails’ conditions and on the abilities of hikers.
Registration is required. Click HERE to register.
If you need to cancel, please notify the leader, Joanna Miller, ASAP: [email protected].
