Interpretive Panel Unveiling

Please join CT DEEP and the Sleeping Giant Park Association at the Sleeping Giant Interpretive Panel Unveiling:

All are welcome to join the unveiling of an interpretive panel explaining the significance and history of Sleeping Giant. The interpretive panel was developed to fulfill the obligations of the Sleeping Giant State Park Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), which resolved the adverse effects to this Traditional Cultural Property under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1996.

The Interpretive Panel Unveiling will include a recognition of the importance of Sleeping Giant as a “Traditional Cultural Property” to the Quinnipiac and other southern New England tribes, including the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation and the Mohegan Tribe of Indians of Connecticut.
